We are so very proud of the magical weddings that we have hosted. Each wedding and the couple it celebrates is unique and special in its own way – and through the bonds we share, and the experiences we have, our couples and their families and friends become a part of the Mountain Top family and are forever in our hearts.
Here are just a few messages we have received from our extended Mountain Top Family:
“From the moment we first spoke with Khele the Mountain Top Resort was different. People were kind, the views were immaculate, and the possibility of us having the wedding of our dreams began to materialize. From our initial tour, to helping us arrange a visit with our parents for the tasting, to helping customize every inch of our wedding, the staff at MTR were the type of team you dream of getting to work with for your wedding … The events team are all truly experts in their craft and because of their team the process of planning the event was nearly as much fun as actually hosting it in March 2023. We truly can’t say enough positive things about our experience working with MTR – if you are considering this venue for your wedding I can’t recommend them highly enough.” (March 2023)
“We got married at Mountain Top Resort on 7/2022 and it was truly the best day of our lives. But let’s back up – we booked the day TWO YEARS prior and despite being two years out, we were immediately connected to a planner … The wedding weekend was truly a dream – we had over 100 guests staying on property and everyone had the time of their lives. The rehearsal dinner down at the lake was picturesque, well run and food was delicious. Truly not one thing went wrong – all expectations were exceeded and now we get to have Mountain Top as our special place forever.” (July 2022)
“My husband and I got married at the Mountain Top over Labor Day Weekend, and it was the venue and wedding of our dreams! Our friends and family had the time of their lives and took full advantage of all the fun things to do (swimming, boating, hiking, horseback riding, clay bird shooting), and we were able to plan the PERFECT celebration. From our rehearsal dinner by the lake, to a huge welcome party, to bridal party and family members getting ready in nearly every house, to an incredible mountain top ceremony, to a bary in the barn, to an afterparty in the tavern, brunch the next morning – the staff did not miss a beat. We were a big group and had a lot of special touches and requests, and every single detail was looked after … We also worked with Gayle at Meadow’s Edge Floral on all of our floral design – she is soooo lovely and talented! She went above and beyond for us, and entertained all of my wild requests. Her team knocked it out of the park – walking into the barn and seeing our vision brought tot life on the night of our wedding truly too kmy breath away. Long story short: Booking the Mountain Top (and Meadow’s Edge!) for your wedding will be the best decision you make.” (September 2021)
“Our biggest draw to MTR was that everything was on site. We could host a wedding weekend without leaving the property – maximizing time with guests. When COVID hit in March, MTR acted quickly to develop a backup plan. We moved our date and drastically decreased our guest list. MTR was great – never swaying us but arming us with info and support. We went from 120 to 15 guests: immediate family only. Along with family, the evening felt safe, relaxed, and intimate. MTR will forever be special to us. Even though we drastically changed our event size, MTR never made us feel like we were less important. The staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect.” (August 2020)
“I am a wedding photographer and have worked at 150+ wedding venues throughout the years. When it was time to choose a venue for my own wedding I knew I had to see if Mountain Top was available. My husband and I feel SO lucky that we were able to host our wedding at MTR. Being able to share such a special place with all of our friends and family meant the world to use. It felt like we won the lottery with our wedding coordinator. She was INCREDIBLE. We used Meadows Edge (florist on site) and they were better than I could have every imagined. Gayle is amazing! And we used the spa on site for hair and makeup and I’m so glad that we did. We can’t thank Mountain top enough for the most amazing weekend of our lives!” (June 2019)
“We wanted a winter wedding and snow fell the entire weekend! We held all events – welcome party, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all on the property and everything was awesome. We are STILL hearing from guests about how phenomenal the food was. The service was great down to the little things like needing help shoveling snow, they were there. Our guests loved how attentive the bartenders were throughout the weekend. We also used Meadow’s Edge, the on-site floral team, for our florals. Gayler and her staff did an UNBELIEVABLE job. She took everything I asked for and turned it into something out of a magazine. I am extremely picky about florals and she listened to my every worry and need. Especially considering it was March and there were no local florals to be had. Know that you’re putting your trust into a wonderfully talented team at MTR and Meadow’s Edge.” (March 2018)
“We had a wonderful 2 day wedding at Mountain Top Inn (MTI) in September 2017 and couldn’t be happier with the venue. We had people coming from all over the globe including US, France, India and Canada and unanimously they all loved the venue and still rave about it! The location is absolutely GORGEOUS, and the accommodations (chalets or rooms in the main building) are beautiful and fun. We had about 70 guests and had 2 ceremonies: an Indian ceremony on Sunday night in the Jewel chalet with a tent set up right in front, which ended up being open (no walls) as we had such a perfect weather, and a Western ceremony on the grass at the knoll with the beautiful lake and mountains in the back, with the reception in the barn. We had a great experience, MTI made it look super easy – they are used to having weddings and a lot of thoughts have been put into any aspects that you can’t even think of to make your big day is perfect. We had great weather but even the backup rain location would have been nice with view on the lake and mountains. Our MTI venue coordinator was Chelsea and she was professional, responsive and effective. Honestly our skills at organizing are not the best and it was a relief to be in such capable hands taking care of the all the logistics. We used mainly vendors that were already familiar with the venue and all had great reviews – again this made it very easy. We had : – Idena Beach Photography for photos/videos – a top notch experience with talented photographers and great people! (Idena and Mike) – see my separate detailed review – Top Hat Entertainment for music (ceremony and reception) and lights (reception). They were eager to play the music we gave them which included French and Indian songs – Meadows Edge Floral (MTI on site florist/decorator) – Gayle has been great to work with and eager to customize decoration for an Indian Mandap, she made beautiful arrangements that we could use for both ceremonies during the 2 days – Vermont Tent Company – Briana was great to work with and very responsive – MTI caterer for the main reception – here also they were flexible and we had a mix of dishes that were “standard” choices and custom Indian dishes – Guru the Caterer for the Indian ceremony food the day before – great food – MTI Spa for hair and makeup – hair was beautifully done although didn’t last very long (could have used more pins?) and makeup was beautifully done. Thanks MTI for the great venue and the best wedding week-end!” (September 2017)
“My wife and I got married at the Mountain Top Resort and it was truly a terrific experience from beginning to end. Our wedding coordinator was super professional from our first interaction with her. She was super responsive to our many questions and also proactively made sure we were thinking about details that we needed to think through. The memory that best exemplifies our experience was after my wife and I went down the sledding hill in our wedding attire. We came back to the lodge invigorated, but cold and covered with snow. The staff had drinks waiting for both of us. That was pretty much how things were the entire time – really friendly, attentive, and thoughtful service … Mountain Top is a beautiful venue in a beautiful setting with really good food and great service. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a wedding in a rustic venue without compromising on the creature comforts!” (January 2014)
“My husband grew up in Rutland, VT and we heard about Mountain Top through a friend. We live in Manhattan, and I had originally thought about a wedding in NYC. That thought was short lived once I read the reviews for Mountain Top and heard from Jim (my husbands) family and friends. I actually booked our wedding before I even saw it in person! I just had a feeling it was “the place”. My oh my were my expectations blown away! It was above and beyond everything I imagined. Lauren, our wedding coordinator was delightful. She thought of everything and wasn’t pushy or overwhelming while we planned. They are super flexible and relaxed, and that relaxed me. The list they provided of out-side vendors in the area was wonderful. We picked local vendors and everyone had worked together before and was familiar with the location/setup which made it smooth. My guests were literally speechless when they saw the location. The mountains, the water, the trees (green in June) were AMAZING. We let nature be our decoration and our photos and whole atmosphere was perfect. Just perfect. I highly highly recommend Mountain Top for your wedding. Any and all seasons, they are so accommodating and the space would be just has beautiful in the fall or winter months.” (June 2012)
“It was the 5th place we visited in Vermont, and after 15 minutes of our tour, my fiancee whispered to me, ‘We can stop looking. I’m in!’ The way I described the venue to people is that it’s a laid back elegance that I’ve not seen before. Our reception was unique in that we did a cocktail party for the whole thing – there was no sit down or traditional dinner. When we brought the idea to the on-site coordinator and food/bev manager, they embraced our thoughts and the chefs really ran with it. Customer service is VERY important to Jeff and I and our guests were blown away with the level of courteousness and fun-spiritedness from the waitstaff, bartenders, front desk gals, and the girls in housekeeping are rockstairs! Those rooms and houses are immaculate. We wanted people to talk out and say ‘Oh my GOODNESS, that was the BEST wedding ever!’ And they did. And they still are!” (May 2011)
