Horseback Riding
Mountain Top is the perfect destination for a leisurely horseback riding vacation – or to simply add a trail ride to your Mountain Top stay. Experienced rider or new to the saddle, make horseback riding part of your Vermont summer/fall vacation plans. Enjoy the seclusion and immersion in nature as you tour our miles of trails.
Our Equestrian Center is open each summer from Memorial Day weekend through October (weather depending). This program is open to the public. Our resort is situated on 700 private acres with access to 40 miles of designated trails, surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and overlooking a pristine lake.
Enjoy our spectacular property as you walk, trot or canter through mountain pastures and miles of wooded trails – English or Western, on your horse or ours.

Guided Trail Ride Rates (Must be at least 8 years of age):
1 Hour – $45pp
2 Hours – $100pp
10 1-hour Trail Ride Card – $350pp
15 Minutes – Pony Ride – $25pc
Day Pass – $20 per person
Bring your horse* for the day and ride our miles of scenic trails and/or use our rings (when not in use for instruction). Join us on a guided ride (subject to rail ride fees).
*Negative Coggins, and good health certificate within 30 days required.
Overnight Boarding* – $45 per horse/per night**

Additional Information
An ASTM approved helmet is required (& available) and smooth soled boots with a heel are recommended to ride at the resort. Please Note: For safety of both horse and rider, we abide by an industry standard 250 pound rider weight restriction. Horse to rider compatibility will depend on the availability of horses on any particular day as well as total tack weight and the riding ability information you supply to us upon registration.
