Make horseback riding part of your summer 2020 plans! Enjoy the seclusion and immersion in nature as you tour our miles of trails.
Our Equestrian Center is generally open each summer from Memorial Day weekend through October. Mountain Top is the only Vermont Resort, and one of only a handful of Resorts in New England, to offer a full equestrian program. Located on 700 beautiful acres, surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and overlooking a pristine lake, Mountain Top Resort is the perfect setting for a “Horseback Riding Vacation” – or simply to add a trail ride to your Mountain Top stay.
Enjoy the spectacular property as you walk, trot or canter through mountain pastures, over miles of trails. Experienced rider or new in the saddle, our professional instructors will help you to improve your riding ability, English or Western, on your horse or one of ours. We will help you to create a personalized riding vacation to suit your needs and ability level, making it as varied and intensive as desired.

DAY PASS – (we apologize, but we will not be able to offer the day pass for summer 2020 due to current covid-19 guest-level restrictions. We hope to offer this service again in 2021). Bring your horse for the day and ride our miles of scenic trails, use our rings and cross-country course. Join us on a guided trail ride, a lesson or a clinic. Daily fee is just $20 per person. *Negative coggins, and good health certificate within 30 days required.
An ASTM approved helmet is required and available and smooth soled boots with a heel are recommended to ride at the Resort.
Please note: For safety of both horse and rider, we abide by an industry standard 250 pound rider weight restriction. Horse to rider compatibility will depend on the availability of horses on any particular day as well as total tack weight.
We will stable, feed and care for your horse. Includes use of our trail system.
