Come Celebrate Vermont’s Premier Brewers at the Mountain Top Tavern!
Colorado, Oregon, and all you other craft-beer titans, move aside: Vermont’s rapidly become a brewing powerhouse to rival the best of them, and shows no signs of slowing down. If you’re a fan of high-quality microbrews, you’re definitely going to want to make note of a brand-new series we’re proudly debuting this summer in the Mountain Top Tavern: the Meet the Brewers Dinners!
Each dinner will feature a different brewery’s topnotch creations carefully (and deliciously) paired with our own chef’s masterful entrees. There’s no better way to survey Vermont’s outstanding craft-beer universe than right here in the Mountain Top Tavern.
A Brief Sketch of Vermont Brewing
The modern-day brewing industry in Vermont only really got cooking in the 1980s (ushered in by Greg Noonan’s Vermont Pub & Brewery in Burlington), but it’s truly grown in leaps and bounds since. Today, Vermont tops the country in terms of the number of breweries per capita.
Our homegrown brewers are creative, ambitious, and supremely dedicated to their venerable craft, and they turn out a fabulous variety of world-class lagers, IPAs, wheat beers, porters, stouts, and more.
These Green Mountain State beers and their brewmasters have attracted the attention of beer connoisseurs the world over, racking up many awards and accolades. In 2013, for example, Greensboro’s Hill Farmstead Brewery took the number-one slot in RateBeer’s “Best Brewers in the World” lineup.
Our Meet the Brewers Dinners join a rich collection of annual events honoring and exploring Vermont’s craft beers, not least the Vermont Brewers Festival. The truly devoted beer lover can even pick up a Vermont Brewery Challenge Passport to wield on a wide-ranging tour of brew pubs and breweries.
Our Meet the Brewers Dinners
Here at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort, we’re incredibly excited to launch the Meet the Brewers Dinners. They offer a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our state’s hard-working and endlessly creative beer-smiths as well as our own similarly hard-working and endlessly creative Chef.
And you’ll be able to relish all that fine beer and delectable food right on our beautiful grounds!
This summer, we’ll hold four Meet the Brewers Dinners, each getting underway at 6:00 PM in the warm, lively Mountain Top Tavern. The featured brewmasters are Drop-In Brewing Company’s Steve Parkes (June 19); Citizen Cider’s Kris Nelson and Jess Hamilton (July 24); Long Trail Brewing’s Dave Hartman (August 21); and Northshire Brewery’s Chris Mayne and Earl McGoff. Here’s your chance to pay your respects in person!
Visit our website to learn more about the Meet the Brewers Dinners schedule, including details on the courses our Chef has masterminded to perfectly synchronize with and accent each beer. You’ll need to make an advanced reservation—and slots are likely to go fast!
